Laboratory Benching - Bespoke Corian® Application

The project included the design and production of a bespoke bench system used for handling radioactive materials. A water-safe edge and sinks without dirt traps had to be included as part of the overall requirements. The Corian® solution provided a clean, smooth working surface without any sharp internal corners. The Corian® also encapsulated the lead shielding into the bench giving the clinicians the radiological protection required without coming into contact with the lead shielding material and its associated health risks.
